2 Materials and Methods

For further investigation of the effects of stabilizers such as cement, lime, and mixed lime-cement on mechanical and hydraulic properties of bentonite clay prepared by two methods (wet and dry), 7, 14 and 28-year samples were studied. The samples were originally investigated by Pakbaz and Farzi (2015). Obtained results indicated the effect of mixing method on mechanical and hydraulic properties of the bentonite clay. As the effects of the additives incorporated into the two mixing methods (dry and wet) on soil samples are yet to be addressed, in this study, the samples stabilized with cement and lime (by wet and dry preparation methods) were evaluated after 1850 days of curing using unconfined compressive strength and consolidation tests.
